Squash

We are waiting for squash lovers all year long on parqueted, air-conditioned fields.

The rules of the game:

Serving is tossed by spinning the racquet. Then the server keeps serving- changing walls- until he gains a point.  Serving is done from the service box over the red line of the main wall so that the ball falls on the territory of the other player. The ball may strike the side or back walls at any time, and it is allowed to bounce once on the floor. A ball landing on either the out line or the line along the top of the tin is considered to be a wrong hit and the server loses his right to serving which then is the turn of the other player. THERE IS ONLY ONE ATTEMPT TO SERVE! It is important that- in case the serve landed in the middle of the field or if the other player hits the ball coming from the glass in the middle area of the field, the server cannot prevent it because he cannot enter point ”T” or the receiver CANNOT HIT ! (because of dangerous game!) In such a case the serve must be repeated. The sets are played up to point 9. The first player who gets to 8:8 can decide if the sett is to be continued with a difference of one or two points. In case of 2 points’ difference the play is not to be continued after 10 points. The next set is always started by the previous winner.

The ball can bounce on the floor only once. The ball must hit the main wall over the bottom line so that it doesn’t touch the floor or any part of the body of the opponent or his/her clothing or rocket and the ball remains within the playground.
The server may not be obstructed in hitting the ball. If this still happens, the set must be replayed.

The server must do his/her best to get out of the way of the opponent. The opponent must see the ball and cannot be obstructed in approaching it in a straight way. For hitting the ball he/she must be provided enough space.
